On a beautiful sunny day, May 3, 2015, EduCare held its annual 5K walk in Merrill County Park Edison, NJ. There were a total of 120 dedicated individuals, ranging ages of 3 to 75 years, who walked or ran the course. All participants received a complementary t-shirt that has the saying “Help a child! educarecharity.org” and enjoyed great foods and drinks.
Many dedicated volunteers led by Nitin Chordiya, Aparna Prashar and Kris Dubon helped do various things from setting up food to assisting registration. The foods and shirts were sponsored by Pawan Jain and, Ashok and Neelam Jain. The event raised $3,000 from participants and sponsors. These funds will be used to help achieve the goal of EduCare, which is to help provide an opportunity for an education to needy children.
The primary mission of the walk was to raise awareness about the plight of children who cannot go to school because of poverty and also to show how easy it is to give a child the gift of an education that will last forever. The event was covered by the New York area news station T.V. Asia.
